Windows OpenVPN set up

  1. Download the View TV Abroad OpenVPN Windows installation package.
    Unzip the openvpn-2.1.1-install.zip file and run openvpn-2.1.1-install.exe


  2. Start OpenVPN GUI. For example from START->Programs->OpenVPN->OpenVPN GUI.
    For Windows 7 and VISTA: Please be sure that openvpn.exe and openvpn-gui-x.x.x.exe have administrator privileges to be able change routing table. Just go to C:\Program Files\OpenVPN\bin\ and right click on that files, then choose properties, then compatibility and check "Run as Administrator".


  3. Right-Click on the OpenVPN GUI icon in your system tray, choose suitable server location and then choose "Connect".

  4. Enter your ViewTVabroad Account details - your User name and Password as given in your welcome email, and press the "OK" button.

  5. If the OpenVPN GUI icon in your system tray is green, you are successfully connected.

  6. Now you have to configure DNS servers for the TAP-WIN32 interface in your Network Connections. Configure static DNS servers to Google Public DNS or OpenVPN DNS servers.

  7. You can now start watching UK & US TV by first making sure you are connected to one of the UK servers (for UK TV) or one of the US servers (for US TV) and then selecting channels and services form the channels page.
